You may be asking yourself  "self, what on Earth is aquaponics and how does it involve me?" Well I am glad you asked! Aquaponics is a efficient way of farming that involves fish that fertilize plants. Sound simple? That's because it is. This system is far less polluting and much more beneficial way of raising food. The fish in the system fertilize the plants, and then we eat the plants and fish! Although eating the fish is optional. I for one, could not raise fish to eat, I would feel way too guilty. But, nonetheless the option remains, and choice can never be a bad thing.

How can you get involved? Again, that is an easy one. Wherever you live, chances are there is a local group near you that advocates the use of aquaponics. A quick and easy Google search will bring you in contact with your local group, where they have meetings and classes on how to start your own aquaponics system!

Not enough room for your own aquaponics system? No problem! Apartment and condo dwellers rejoice! There are many local groups that have one or more of their own systems set up in a community type garden area. You can volunteer your time and learn just what makes this system so efficient.

We encourage you to get involved and learn as much as you can about this exciting field. We need to find a better alternative to traditional farming, and then get enough people talking about it and being knowledgeable on it to spur any sort of change. This is for everybody, regardless of religion, political affiliation, race, or any other dividing factor. We all have to eat, there is no room for differences in this issue. Unite and spread the word and let us get the wheels moving on this behemoth!
